2009 to 2011 a year of much hardship and life changing events and only a year and a half later can i report in! But through all the hardship and life learning curves i still made me FREAKS, they came on my journey............Hoot Owls have made a appearence lots of yummy stuff has been simmering away. Im just makingtea so will come back on later:)

Its been a long winter here at Freakey Frienz. tim and Miss ruby have been at Kraft Bomb- miss ruby sells her wears every month and ive been at The Bead Hold in Pt Chev picking extra hours where i can. Have been to Ponsonby Market and now with the longer days happerening its a must do on a Saturday morning, i'll be out back of market with fellow designers so come check us out Nxt to Macy home on Ponsonby Rd 9-4 Sat only-if raining i won't be there!:)

Heres a idea for you to play with, grab old necklace or actually anything with a flat surface that needs a new lease of life..

1.Have spray paint ready in colour desired-i always go for high gloss finish!

Then find holey fabric as shown here, fishnet tights, a paper dollie anything with a holey pattern- i ended up laying plastic chain over mine

2. lay over item and spray - Note if you want a sold colour don't disturb let dry then reapply.

3.Then once dry, take off what you have used to make pattern and wala!

Just some fun things i did over xmas, just about back into it once ruby is back at school! Big spring clean this year, My shed needed a makeover .......... end result anything i hadn't used for 2 years has gone, gave alot of fabric back to the op shops, hopeing it will inspire other people out there to create and make!

This year at The beadhold i will be hosting my first ever "bead a holic" term time fortnightly meeting we sit and make or remake jewellery and eat cake!! Im a big fan of recycling old jewellery!So have big plans will show you on the journey, first is starting this blog and using it!!!

First ever Freakey Frienz Workshop!!!!!!!!!

You guys all ROCK!!!! you did so well and created AWESOME Frienz!!!!!!

I'm going to do more of these workshops as it gives back the knowledge of creating something from nothing. It will be for you older kids too!

Im looking into a venue, i'll supply buttons and know how & you guys can create anything from a Bag charm, necklace, brooch, hair clip or braclet! Two hour lesson @ $65 including buttons (note buttons will not be vintage they are made "today" buttons but come in classic designs as vintage does):)let me know if your interested!

Well another month flys by...................Summer, Christmas will be on its way before you know it!

My creative flow is rocking along, it helps being around The Beadhold (Point Chevalier) where i work part time all the creative fellow workers and customers come in with new concepts or jewellery which inspirers yet another idea.......... These hot little numbers like the one above are about to enter the accessory section on website.......A large black button as a base...silver quilt pin on back and cute little plastic buttons adore the front, then the little hairclip, so when you take your jacket or cardi off you still have some bling on!

Freaks are coming along nicely with a skippingholic freakey and another who bit her hand off well eating cake.........just so happens she is dressed up like Marie Antonette!

Whaley is coming sooooon i promise!

HOt new news, Been very busy with life and been trying to spend as much time as i can being creative we are now on www.toggle.co.nz in the children section a selection of much larger Freaks as we need to have a standard size through this website with the instant converter! Mums on there also under lily brown and she has been ever so busy crocheteing her rugs with more to come. We have been working on a freak whale which i will post some photos of soon. Been changing my bags slightly with new charms and jewellery is on its way.......thank goodness school holidays are all most over........i love the first week, but come the second week im over it!! Loved kung Fu panda.....as turtle said... yesterday is history, tommorow is a mystery, today is a gift that is why its called the present!!!!!!

It's true i know i have not been prompt on doing my blog and could give you alot of reasons why!!!!but you wouldn't believe me!So i'm going to start you off with something i have just finished two weeks ago! Have yet to propley get into the full time working freak frenzie what with school holidays and colds! The Poi Room have got my best KIWI inspired FREAKS in store now!!!!! I have even done a Westie couple need i say more!!! Good News!!!!! Totally improving my jewellery skills thanks to the fabulous The Bead Hold in Pt Chev Im working there parttime and it ROCKS! Me and rubes got the old tree out early and redesigned some of our old decorations, all you need is a hot clue gun and some buttons and away you go...........

Its been a while i know, but its been a werid old two months, full on and all that. Greylynn went well the sun shone. I have been getting creative and have a Fairy and Bandit freak out new this week. We had them on the stall at Aotea Square markets Fri & Sat 9.30 to 5.30 this weekend and they were bought up so i will make some more this week and take a picture and post it!

Been working me Freak off- have loads of new FREAKS so be there on the day to get in quick for Christmas prezzies-Have been doing heaps of little stocking fillers also, purses, key rings and cuffs so the sun shall shine and we will have great day there, Tim and myself will be working the stall so drop in and say HI!!!!!!!! We have a corner stall that is closer to Dryden St food stall side of the park, two in from the long line of foodstalls!

Bring loads of cash for days events!

Yip i wasn't doing the slacker thing...........Just a couple of out of control weeks!

Here is who i have been hanging out with, gearing up for Greylynn Festival Saturday Nov 17th, Greylynn Park Auckland. Bring lots of money and a few coldies!Last two years rained and never propley went off so......fingers crossed for this year!Going to have all my new Christmas stock there on the day, so come down and do your Christmas shopping early!!!

Its a "Never dance alone again" Freak! Miss Ruby is shown how it works! - Eack Freak comes with a Adult and Child size pair of elastics. You hook them onto your Freak then slip your feet into your loops and away you go!!!! A laugh and great fun for Christmas Day!

They are a little artform in there own right and they do take a while to make,

I have featured them on chokers for this summer must have item! Have them available at Aotea markets 10 to 5.30 Fridays and Saturdays at $15 each. Just in time for christmas as a stocking filler idea!

Today i had a break through, i know that i seem to have all the bits here in my shed, but if you go to The Warehouse craft section, Spotlight or Trade me you can find alot of jewellery bits. Just start collecting and your designs can be endless! Anyway ive done this back to front!.......i was trying to think what else i could make out of the remainder of my freakey belts, I can sometimes have a good lengths left......i came up with this!

Just work out the month that you got your FREAK!

January FREAK, look out for any blue doors, they may not take you where you want to go. You will feel the urge to spring clean but don't throw things of meaning away just yet!

Feb FREAK, Stop pushing that lolly wrapper under the sofa cushions and get active, if your single-love is in the air!

March FREAK, Beware of any cordory swish swish sounds coming from the closet, allergies will be very catching this month.......

April FREAK, That rash you have will go away this month, and your health will return with a spring in your step.....!

May FREAK, Don't go outside this month as your chances of being hit by lightening is 1 in 3.Internet surfing should be kept to night time only!

June FREAK,Take the plunge and get a new haircut-it will do you wonders, keep away from dwarfs!

July FREAk, Try a new nailpolish this month and be gental to our 4 leggered friends, orange is a lucky colour for you.......

August FREAK, Start dancing as a exercise you'll lose that veranda over the toy shop soon enough, and stop being so hard on yourself, everyones different!

Kia Ora all you Freak Lovers out there!!!!!

Tis I Becky Stott here coming at you from a secret location in Aotearoa, well its not secret just sounds exciting! Im the dreamer who made my first FREAK called Sue for my daughter Ruby! Who designed and made the very Freak you have in your home!

I still design them from our tin shed out back. The first Tin Shed was a single garage that flooded every time it rained heavy- i learnt not to leave anything on the ground and everything a good 20cms from the floor on shelving! Then from our little rented sky blue ex state house we moved into a old villa that has a even bigger tin shed and when it rains we have no floods! This year has been a big year for us, and to get this far is a big pat on our backs but we believe in our product Freakey Frienz and without your support we wouldn't be this far!

Next blog will be the long and awaited "freak a scope" and i will make sure i do this each month for your Freak so that you can have a better understanding of there moods and needs- well its like when you really like someone you start to read there horoscopes and you know its love!

Im now going to give you a brief update on where me and tim are at. We formed a company this year called Freakey Frienz Ltd. Our company designs and manufactuers, Freakeys and Freakey takes a trip Fashion accessorys. We have both never set up business before, Im a ex costume standby for film and theatre and mum, Tims a ex wine maker. We have a vision to make Freakeys and get them all over the world, which we have from our little stall at Aotea Market, Auckland.

Freaks are a long process i'll give you a little run down.

Each is handmade and created with time and thought - theres a inside into your freakey maker! I had this person once in the stall saying to my face - I'm going to steal this idea from you, but as i said to them, sure you can but you'll never have the becky mind to be able to create there stories. I think that is a big part of what there about-they are unique as us and make us laugh which is well needed in todays world! I'll go now as i feel i have rambled on enough!
